Make dry mix: In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and seasoning together. Make egg mix: In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg and the buttermilk. If you really want to impress your guests, make sure you serve with lemon slices and chopped fresh parsley for presentation. Place a dark-colored baking sheet or pan in the oven to heat up (you want it to get really hot). You can prep the chicken and parmesan mixture and refrigerate before everyone gets to your house and be ready to go when they get there. This is the perfect dish to make for a get together. But the sauce is soooo deliciously drippy and definitely recommended. Add the chicken broth, lemon juice and pepper. Meanwhile, in a separate saucepan, melt butter and garlic, cook until fragrant. Reduce the heat if chicken browns too quickly. You can absolutely make just the chicken and that is YUM as heck on its own. Once hot, add the chicken and cook 4-5 minutes per side, or until crispy, golden and cooked through to 165F on an Instant Read Thermometer.
